Thank you so much for making this documentary! I say this without having seen it or without any clear prospects of seeing it in the foreseeable future as I can't seem to find the channel it's being aired on. I heard about your program in an email from Anne Bercht's website. I have been through this life shattering experience myself and while I am one of the "lucky" ones whose marriage seems to be not only surviving (my husband's ) the affair, but flourishing - it is truly the worst pain I have ever experienced. And one of the very worst discoveries during the initial healing time was that there was very little help or support for me. I had to more or less invent my path initially until I found the Bercht's website and went on from there to search out the help I needed. Jokes are made freely about adultery, but honest and helpful discourse? Not so much. So, again I say "Thank You!" without having seen this show. It needed to be explored. The conversations have to happen.
America is bombarded with affair stereotypes- the politicians , the Clintons, the Edwards, The Spitzers’s all doing their mea culpa’s.Is that what infidelity is all about – betrayer and betrayed?- Or is it more about the difficulties of maintaining a monogamous marriage –which can now span over 60 years- with unprecedented expectations of communication skills , sexual performance, and income providing. Is it a wonder that almost 50% of America’s marriages fail- and many experience some forms of infidelity ? I would very much welcome hearing your impression , your point of view on extra marital relationships, affairs.
