Ep.1.3 Empress’ New Clothes

Iris catches Mayor Crumb's assistant Lisa furnishing the ex-Mayor with privileged information. She fires her on the spot, even though technically Scott tells her that she can't do that, resulting in Lisa bringing forth a wrongful dismissal suit. Iris decides it is probably better to hire a new Constituency Assistant, so she chooses Trevor Jones, the young guy who used to run the community centre. As days progress, Maxine tries to fix up Iris's dowdy image with a makeover, with unfortunate results. Bill, meanwhile, tries to keep Iris out of important decision-making and hires some architects to spearhead a big-ticket waterfront development project. Iris's natural suspicion leads her to ask Trevor to investigate the architects, who turn out to be charlatans. Iris confronts Bill -- he can keep his job but from now on he has to keep her in the loop. A grateful Bill realizes that Iris is smarter than he thought.
