At council meeting one day, a councilor is found dead in his seat, of a heart attack. Trevor says the man was so old it was no surprise but Iris notes that the man was actually only a year older than her. Scott reminds her that, for insurance purposes, she must go see the city doctor. The Doctor is a very young man, practically a kid and he forces her to wear a heart monitor, which emits an audible signal whenever she is agitated or aroused. In other words, a complete liability. Her biggest problem is that the seat vacated by the late councilor has to be filled in sixty days and the only person running for it is Crumb! It doesn’t help that her staff start to treat her like a feeble old person or that she sees Bill whispering to Crumb in a dark corner. Even worse, Stanley decides to run for the vacant seat. In the end, Bill and Iris finally talk and he tells her that he is worried about getting close to her, as all the women in his life die on him. Iris sweeps away his concerns with a kiss.
